I don't think that the idea behind it sucks, but the way they are protesting about it sucks. This is the most non-issue and weakest form of protest I have ever seen.

Changing your profile to Clippy does nothing in the grand scheme of things. It does nothing to interrupt their business, it doesn't affect them in any way that would force them to even acknowledge you.

I bet that after a couple weeks, when all of the commentary channels finish talking about it and move on to the next controversy, we will all forget about it, and this protest will die down after a week or two, and we will eventually get used to it and put up with these companies' practices. I think clippy pfps will still remain, but the overall protest will fail.

Thank you for telling me this, because I didn't even know it was a protest to begin with. I thought people all the sudden fell in love with Clippy for some reason and built up this warship. I didn't even look further into this because I thought it was just another fad.

Because people can't just be motivated or be pumped up enough to never let it die down, most people will eventually burn out and grow exhausted from all the complaining.

tbh, I'm not someone who cares much about this, so I might not have much of a say, but I feel like If you really want to make a change, that would mean having to go all the way in, that would mean boycott YouTube, go pirate movies and pirate adobe, cancel your subscriptions, go give guides on how to pirate things safely.

Otherwise, there is no incentive for Google to even care about what their consumers think, because as long as people still generate money for them, then nothing is being lost, they won't back down because people don't like it, it is a non-issue to them.

Just like how the French overthrow their Monarchy in 1789 with Tricolour and Russians overthrow their Bourgeise in 1917 with Hammer & Sickle. If you still not convince nor cared, fine. You believe whatever you want, i believe on the movement that will succed!
